Beekn Privacy Policy

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely and never in plain text). You choose a public handle and may add a display name and avatar.

Content you create. This includes your saved keyword alerts and their criteria (price, grade, sport/category, marketplace preferences), community posts (bounties, authenticity questions, counterfeit reports, missing-card reports), photos you upload to a post, responses and tips you leave on other posts, and direct messages you send through the Service.

Usage and preference data. We store which listings you watch, your notification preferences (push, email digest, instant-alert threshold), and basic activity like when you signed up and last signed in.

Information we do not collect. Beekn does not process payments and does not collect payment card numbers, bank details, or government ID numbers. Bounty and finder’s-fee rewards are arranged directly between users, off-platform; we have no visibility into those transactions.

We use your information to:

• Operate the core features of the Service — matching listings against your saved alerts, displaying your community posts, and delivering notifications
• Send you transactional email (account confirmation, password reset) and, if you opt in, alert notifications and digest emails
• Maintain the safety and integrity of the community — reviewing reports, and in the case of posts alleging counterfeit or stolen items, applying the moderation practices described in Section 5
• Improve and maintain the Service, including diagnosing technical issues

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Beekn’s Community section is public by design. Your handle, avatar, and the content of your posts and responses (including photos you attach) are visible to other users of the Service, and may be visible to search engines if a post’s URL is shared or indexed. Do not include personal information in a public post that you don’t want publicly associated with your account — for example, avoid including your full name, home address, or contact details in a post description.

Direct messages are private and visible only to the sender and recipient.

Beekn aggregates publicly available listing information from third-party marketplaces (including eBay, Goldin, Heritage Auctions, Fanatics, and Mercari) to power the alert-matching feature. This listing data belongs to those marketplaces and their sellers; Beekn is not the seller of any listed item and is not a party to any transaction that occurs on a third-party marketplace. Clicking through to a listing takes you to that marketplace’s own site, which has its own privacy practices.

Posts alleging counterfeit or stolen items are unverified user reports. We do not independently verify these claims before they’re published. If you file a report about a post, that report is visible to Beekn moderators only, not to other users, and not to the person whose post was reported. We may remove or hide a post that violates our Terms of Service.

We share information only in these circumstances:

• Service providers who help us operate Beekn — for example, our database and hosting provider (Supabase), our email delivery provider, and our application development platform. These providers can access only the data necessary to perform their function and are contractually restricted from using it for other purposes.
• Legal requirements — if required to comply with a valid legal process, protect the rights or safety of Beekn or its users, or investigate fraud or abuse.
• A business transfer — if Beekn is acquired by or merged with another company, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy that provides comparable protection.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, or where content you’ve posted has already been responded to by other users in a way that makes full removal impractical (in which case we will remove your personal identifiers from it).

You can update your profile information, notification preferences, and delete individual alerts or posts at any time within the app. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at the address below.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information, so this right is not applicable in practice). If you are located in the European Economic Area or UK, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or port your data. Beekn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and database-level access controls that restrict data to your own account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app before the changes take effect.
